Ivan's 8th Birthday Bash at Timezone Southland and the Pancake Parlour
Turning 8 calls for a proper celebration, and Ivan (known to family and friends as Vanya) marked the milestone with his mates at Timezone Southland in Westfied Southland. The day started with lunch at The Pancake Parlour on Level 2, before the group headed down to the arcade floor for a session of games. It's one of our favourite double-venue combinations to style for — a booth set up for the birthday breakfast, followed by an arcade session, with balloons doing the job of turning an ordinary booth into an instant party corner from the moment the boys sat down.
The brief: something bold enough to spot from across the venue, personalised for Ivan, and colourful enough to photograph well against the dark timber booths and black-and-white checkerboard floor.
What we created:
- A statement red foil number "8", double-height, with "Ваня" (Vanya) lettered across it in gold script
- A cluster of red and navy star foils anchoring the base
- Soft yellow round balloons filling out the bunch for contrast against the deep reds and blues
- Curling gold ribbon trailing down for that finishing party touch
The whole display was built to stand tall enough to act as a marker for the party table without crowding the space where the boys were colouring in menus and waiting for their pancakes. Red, navy and gold gave it a slightly more grown-up, "big boy birthday" feel appropriate for turning 8, while the yellow kept things playful.
