One of our favourite recent bookings was a 21st birthday held upstairs in the Vine Bar. The brief was simple: keep it sophisticated, not childish — this is a wine bar, after all, not a kids' party room — but still make it feel unmistakably like a milestone birthday.
We went with a rich, moody colour palette of deep burgundy, black and gold, which sat beautifully against the Vine Bar's existing warm, low-lit interior instead of fighting it. A statement gold number 21 bouquet anchored the private lounge area, with a smaller matching garland styled along the bar for photos. We kept table styling minimal — a few low burgundy and gold clusters so guests could still see each other over dinner, rather than balloons everywhere for the sake of it.
The result was a room that still felt like Butcher & Vine — sleek, atmospheric, a little bit grown-up — but with just enough birthday sparkle that nobody could mistake it for a regular Saturday night. Kayla's family told us it struck exactly the balance they were after: special, but not over the top.
